Karnataka seeks to address the skill gap at Indo-Japan Summit

With the intention of increasing investment to the state and bridging the skill-gap between the industry requirement and the academia, Karnataka adopts a unique industry-academia approach.

For the upcoming India Japan Global Partnership Summit to be held in Noida, the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah plans to visit with a 500 strong delegation comprising of experts from various industries along with Vice Chancellors and representatives of several other academic institutions.

The delegation has representation from industrialists, technocrats and businessmen. Industries that will be represented include power, animation and consolidated design studios; machine & tools, manufacturing, biotech, Nanotechnology, electronics and export oriented units in the textile, garment and leather sector to name a few.

“The plan is to provide a comprehensive approach to economic development and growth by involving all the stake holders right from the beginning and through the entire business cycle,’’ says Kishor Jagirdar, Chairman and Managing Director, Infopace Management Pvt Ltd and former Member – Executive Board of the India-Japan Global Partnership Summit (IJGPS).

The VTU for instance has around 200 acres of land near Nandi Hills. The plan is to set up a Nanotechnology, Biotech and Energy Park.
